At our most recent commencement ceremony, we celebrated 276 students graduating with diploma and degrees in Nursing, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Massage Therapy, Online Business Administration, Medical Assisting and Online Medical Billing and Coding. This is such an exciting time for our graduates as they embark on their new career path! We caught up with one of our Online Medical Billing and Coding graduates who shared with us her post-graduation plans!

Meet Jordan!

Name: Jordan Flavin

Program: Medical Billing & Coding

When did you graduate? September 15th and officially walked at graduation November 18th.

What are you plans after graduation? I landed a position as a contractor at Deloitte working with the VA.

That’s amazing! What kind of responsibilities will you be handling in this role? I will collaborate with medical professionals to confirm medical examinations have been completed, the billing requirements are accurate and the final documentation is submitted.

How did you find your job? I found my job networking through LinkedIn.

What are you looking forward to at your new job? I’m excited that I will get to use everything I’ve just learned and be able to apply that to my work everyday.

What did you think about the program Beckfield? I really enjoyed the program; it made me feel empowered. And, I have been looking for something that feeds my brain and this program did that for me.

Any tips for completing an online program like MBC? Make your books your best friend. I have a thousand post-it notes and notebooks that have helped me remember key things during my exams.

How much preparation went into studying for the certification exam? Any tips you can offer to graduates preparing to take the exam? Definitely attend Ms. Lori’s coding clinic, take the prep exams and study your books. Also, get a good nights sleep and take it while it’s fresh in your mind.

What do you like most about attending Beckfield College? I felt like I was a part of a family. I loved being able to ask questions and get the help I needed, even with taking classes online. I recommend this program to my friends all the time – I appreciate you guys.
